Four Luxurious Electric Vehicles

Forget boxy little hatchbacks that may be eco-friendly but definitely aren’t easy on the eye. The next generation of electric vehicles is sleek, sexy and seriously stylish. To celebrate the revolution we’re shining the spotlight on some of the most luxurious electric and hybrid models to hit the road in 2015.

BMW i8

Featuring futuristic swan-wing doors, an imposing shark-nose grille and the showy stance of a F1 supercar, the BMW i8 represents a new era of elegance for the plug-in hybrid industry. Its luxury leather interior is reminiscent of a plush five star hotel while the turbocharged three-cylinder engine combined with dual electric motors offers drivers a huge 357 hp and a top speed of 155 mph. All with an impressive fuel economy of under 30 mpg.

Mercedes-Benz F015

Mercedes-Benz has pioneered a new generation of luxury sports car with the F015. The vehicle is both electric and autonomous which means all drivers have to do is sit back, relax and enjoy the limousine-esque interior featuring rotating lounge chairs. We can definitely see this one making an appearance on the Las Vegas strip!

Tesla Model S

With a top speed of 125 mph and the grunt to go from 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, the lighting fast new Tesla Model S challenges the conventions of electric car performance. Drivers enjoy a plethora of futuristic features including a touchscreen driver interface, on-the-go Wi-Fi internet access and a panoramic sun roof. Not to mention incredibly smooth handling and an ultra-comfortable on-road experience.

BMW i3

Chic and compact, the BMW i8 is manufactured with an innovative carbon-fiber/aluminium body that makes it both light and speedy. It can hit zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, boasts an estimated range of 81 miles and reaches full charge in just three hours. A great little car for environmentally conscious city slickers that don’t want to compromise on style.

If you work in the motor trade industry expect to see an influx of electric and hybrid vehicles hit showrooms over the next few months. They may be eco-friendly but these luxury models certainly don’t come cheap which means it’s important to protect your business and your employees with a comprehensive motor trade insurance policy that covers the costs of any accidental damage while on-site. Then you can get behind the wheel and enjoy the ride with total peace of mind!
